Avon Planning Commission Denies Nagel Road Rezone Request

At the April 15, 2026 Planning Commission meeting, the commission denied a request to rezone property on Nagel Road from single-family residential to general business following extensive resident pushback. However, they gave a positive recommendation for a special use permit for a veterinary urgent care facility and approved a preliminary plat for a 31-home residential subdivision on Detroit Road. Commissioners also advanced a temporary moratorium on future development in the R-3 multi-family district.
